About MeExhibitsPaintingsContact

I am a multi media artist who has worked in many mediums: oil, acrylic, pastels, photography and film. I received my MFA from U.C.L.A in 1972,and was fortunate enough to work closely with well-known California and international painter, Richard Diebenkorn. My past work has been large, mural size canvases which I have exhibited in some museums in California.

My inspiration and passion comes from nature: rocks, landscapes, skies, ocean and then I abstract from them with paint and mixed media, to become a new space and form.  I have painted and lived in Mexico and the Southwest, which has been influential in my work. I produced  a group of  paintings that have shown in galleries there, in Colorado and New Mexico. My work with indigenous elders to sacred sites has brought me a deep appreciation of the land and elements.

I also continue figure paintings and drawings along with the inner landscapes I paint. I am influenced by the natural architecture of the land and the connections in life through the language of line, color and shape. My paintings try to capture that magic moment where the seen and unseen is made more "visible".
